Inland Waterway Vessels

We Engineer Specialized Venting and Flame Protection for Inland Cargo Systems.

Ensuring the safety of inland waterway vessels is crucial due to the unique operating conditions these vessels face. Our advanced safety solutions, including Flame Arresters, High Velocity Pressure Relief Valves, and Vacuum Vacuum Vacuum is the pressure in an enclosed space that is lower than the ambient pressure. Relief Valves, provide robust protection for essential components such as storage tanks, slop tanks, cofferdams, and vapor return lines. Individual safety concepts are tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers, taking into account local standards and regulations.

Typical Protection Concepts on Inland Waterway Vessels

Deck and Tank Venting

Tank venting systems on inland vessels are protected using Deflagration and Detonation Detonation Explosion propagating at supersonic velocity and characterized by a shock wave (EN 1127-1: 1997). Flame Arresters designed for end-of-line and inline installation. These devices are positioned to prevent flame transmission back into cargo tanks while allowing required gas flow during loading, unloading, and thermal expansion.

Vapor Return and Transfer Lines

During cargo transfer, vapor return systems require protection against flame propagation originating from shore connections or downstream equipment Equipment Machines, appliances, fixed or mobile devices, control parts and accessories, and warning and prevention systems, whether separate or combined, intended for the generation, transfer, storage, measurement, control, and conversion of energy, and for the processing of materials, which have their own potential source of ignition and may cause an explosion. . In-line Detonation Flame Arresters are installed within piping runs to provide this protection without obstructing normal vapor flow.

Pressure and Vacuum Relief

To maintain tank integrity, inland vessels rely on pressure and vacuum relief devices capable of responding rapidly to operational pressure changes. High-velocity Pressure Relief Valves and Vacuum Relief Valves are installed to manage overpressure Overpressure Overpressure refers to an increase in pressure in a system or vessel above the normal operating pressure. and vacuum conditions while incorporating flame protection features.
