Function and Description

Main component - PROTEGO® flame arrester (PTFE)

Once a detonation Detonation Explosion propagating at supersonic velocity and characterized by a shock wave (EN 1127-1: 1997). enters the flame arrester, energy is absorbed from the detonation shock wave by the integrated shock absorber (1) before the flame is extinguished in the narrow channel of the PTFE FLAMEFILTER® (3). The PROTEGO® flame arrester unit PROTEGO® flame arrester unit The PROTEGO® flame arrester unit is the main component of a flame arrester. It prevents flame propagation. (2) consists of several FLAMEFILTER® discs and spacers firmly held in the FLAMEFILTER® cage FLAMEFILTER® cage The FLAMEFILTER® cage is a housing for a FLAMEFILTER® set. (4). The gap size and number of FLAMEFILTER® discs are determined by the operating data parameters of the mixture flowing in the line (pressure, temperature).

To select the nominal size Nominal size The nominal size is an alphanumeric designation of size for components in a piping system, used for reference purposes, comprising the letters DN followed by a dimensionless integer that is indirectly related to the physical size of the bore or outside diameter of the connections, expessed in millimeters. (DN), please use the flow capacity charts on the following pages
